What Deals Are You Searching For?

Larry here! Today at Lifesta we are giddy with excitement with the launch of our new SEARCH feature. There are now even more search options to help you find exactly what you want. Do you have an active lifestyle? Start your day with a “yoga” class in North Jersey, then take a train to NY and check out “museum” deals. Get a “brazilian blowout” at Blackstones. Finish with a “dinner” in NY or maybe a “Boat Tour“.

Live somewhere else? Choose a different city from the drop-down box and see “yoga”, “dinner” and “museum” deals in your area!

It’s as easy as:

(1) Search by keywords, business names, deal URLs, or seller names – just type them into our new search box

(2) Refine your search by category and location – it’s easy to separate national and local deal

Be sure to tell us about the awesome deals you found in the comments section below. Happy Hunting!

A Look Ahead for Lifesta and Our Customers

We’d like to take this opportunity to share some very exciting news about the weeks and months ahead for Lifesta.com.  This year has started out full throttle and in the first 45 days of 2011, Lifesta has moved to San Francisco and received a round of angel funding to really kick our business into high gear.  We plan on telling you more about each of those but today’s news is about what’s in store for our customers and loyal fans in our social networks.

At Lifesta, we want to sprinkle a bit of fun into the everyday lives of our customers.  We greatly appreciate the interest and loyalty you have shown us in the early stages of our company and to show that appreciation we’re going to have a little fun. The first thing you are going to want to do is Follow Us on FaceBook.  There will be lots of details posted on the blog but the fun stuff will happen on FaceBook.

In addition to lots of new and useful content, Lifesta will be launching a new fan participation giveaway each month.  The details for each giveaway will vary month to month but the game plan is always the same; have some fun and win some free stuff!  We want to learn more about our fans, what you do to have a good time and make bring a little savings in the process.

February’s fan participation giveaway will be “Girls Night Out”.  The details of the giveaway will come out next week but we’ll give you a hint; it’s time to dig up a few of those great photos from your last GNO.

Along with our fan participation giveaways, the team at Lifesta will be providing a lot more content for our fans.  You’ll find regular posts, articles and links on our FaceBook page. A stream of new daily deals uploaded to Lifesta.com by Following Us on Twitter. There will be new videos on our YouTube channel and of course, more new posts on our blog.  So once again we want to thank you for being a fan of Lifesta and we look forward to having some fun with you in the weeks ahead.

We’re live!

This is a very happy day here at Lifesta.

Yael and I have been working to launch our startup for a year now. It’s been an incredible journey so far, with the ups and downs being magnified by the fact that the company is ours, our baby.  While we didn’t spend the whole year on Lifesta, that’s a story for a future entry.

We discovered Groupon and its horde of clones and just loved them. They’re a great way to discover new things. The only thing that bothered us was the one-day deals where you have to decide right now. And what if I like to check things before I buy? Or if I need (god forbid!) permission? Or I just plain got bogged down at work and didn’t get a chance to buy the deal? And so we built a marketplace for deal buying and selling. You’ll find deals other people bought but won’t use, and a place to sell your own.

Roughly around the time we stated working on Lifesta, I had a guest come visit from California. She’s a Groupon fan and as part of her trip planning, she bought a deal for a NY restaurant she wanted to check out. When she got to NY and called the restaurant to see if reservations are required, she got an automated response saying the restaurant is closed due to fire and to call back in a couple of weeks. But in a couple of weeks, she’d be back in California with an unusable Groupon.

Now she’s got a chance to sell this Groupon on Lifesta.com. And so do you – take those deals you bought and won’t or can’t use and list them for sale on Lifesta.com.
